A Biblical Perspective On Yoga

  • Kindred Yoga 1364 Welsh Road North Wales, PA, 19454 United States (map)

Is it ok to practice yoga if I'm Christian? We hear this question a lot, and the answer is a big YES!! This free class is for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of how yoga philosophy intersects with Christianity.

Join Dave Robinson, Episcopal priest and yoga practitioner, as he discusses meaningful connections between the core Biblical understanding of human beings as "embodied persons" and the way yoga seeks to engage the whole person. Attention to breath and posture, release of stress, mindful awareness, and other practices can be universally applied to any tradition.

About David:

Following his initial seminary degree in 1978, Dave completed training at the Center for Christian Spirituality in New York City in 1985, being offered many experiences and retreats in approaches to prayer. His thesis considered the Biblical understanding of the human person as a unity of body/mind/spirit. In the early 2000's Dave completed the training program for Spiritual Directors at the Jesuit Spiritual Center in Wernersville, Pa.

This class is FREE, but you may wish to make a free will donation that would go to one of David's favorite charities - Food For the Poor - which focuses especially on helping impoverished persons in Haiti and Central America.
